Reported Crop Circles for the State of Iowa -

[Western] (1972)

A farmer reported watching a silvery object descend into his cornfield. At a distance of about 300 yards, he watched as the object roared off the ground with a blue flame. Examining the area, he discovered that the corn shocks were “blown around as if caught in an incredible whirlwind”. No burn was left, but the vegetation “looked like a rotary lawn mower had blown it down”.
